Acidic ionized water may be potentially effective in preventing a staphylococcal chronic inflammation in Atopic Dermatitis or Eczema because of its strong bactericidal activity.

In the report released and compiled today by the Bawell water ionizer company some of the beneficial uses of acidic ionized water were explained by referencing a medical study published on Pubmed titled, “Reduction of Staphylococcus aureus in atopic skin lesions with acid electrolytic water--a new therapeutic strategy for atopic dermatitis." Bawell, the company reporting on the study explains that this particular PubMed abstract was conducted on 22 pediatric patients that had been recently diagnosed with Atopic dermatitis / Eczema. The test subjects were divided into 2 groups of 11, where half of the test subjects with Atopic dermatitis were treated with acid electrolytic water, and the other half of the test subjects with Atopic dermatitis were treated with tap water.

The Bawell report also published facts on these diseases: Atopic Dermatitis / Eczema afflicts about 35 million people in the USA. A person of any age can have Atopic Dermatitis or Eczema, and it is very common in children. Most children experience the warm, red, tender, itchy skin that eczema produces before their first birthday, with these red itchy patches of skin often appearing on the scalp, face, forehead, and and most commonly on the cheeks. These symptoms can come and go, causing pain and discomfort on and off throughout the person’s lifetime.

The Bawell company report explains that all of the test subjects in the medical study were treated twice a day, with either acid electrolytic water or tap water sprayed on the atopic dermatitis skin lesions, depending upon which group the test subject was in. "Colony counts of Staphylococcus aureus on skin lesions in the acidic electrolyzed water group, both 3 min after spraying, and after 1 week of skin treatment, were significantly decreased as compared with colony counts before treatment, while there was no significant difference in the placebo group before and after treatment. AEW may be potentially effective in preventing a staphylococcal chronic inflammation in AD because of its strong bactericidal activity”(US National Library of Medicine Research Abstract on Acidic Ionized Water).

The Bawell company highlights these medical findings because acid electrolytic water (AEW) is just one type of ionized water that users of Bawell brand water ionizer machines produce every day in their own homes. The Bawell company’s commitment to health and the environment is a driving force embodied in the Bawell brand of water ionizers and is the primary reason the company informs the public of the many medically researched health benefits of acid and alkaline ionized water.
