Acoustical Solutions, Inc. announces the adoption of Knauf Insulation’s Ecose Brand Fiberglass in the AudioSeal™ sound blanket line. This new “green” fiberglass is actually brown in color and will help projects that meet green building standards.
The Ecose fiberglass is manufactured from naturally occurring and/or recycled raw materials and bonded using a bio-based technology, free from formaldehyde, and is 70% less energy intensive than traditional petroleum-based bonding agents. Ecose Fiberglass is 100% recyclable and contains a minimum of 30% post-consumer recycled bottled glass.
The AudioSeal™ Sound Blanket line offers maximum noise reduction on any application by combining sound absorption and noise barrier materials. AudioSeal™ Sound Blankets are available in an absorber only, with a sound-blocking barrier backing or barrier septum configuration. Audioseal™ sound blankets utilize a variety of quilted fiberglass absorbers and flexible noise barriers, which offer a combination of both sound absorption and sound blocking.
These versatile Sound Blankets can be used in many application types. The can be custom sized and supplied with track systems for indoor sound enclosures, or they can be custom cut for various OEM manufacturing applications. They can also be used outdoors for environmental noise control for construction sites and community noise problems. The blankets have been used in many high profile settings including Boston’s Big Dig and the rebuilding of the twin towers in New York City.
David Ingersoll, Sales Manager, Acoustical Solutions, Inc. said “Out of all of the enhancements we have made to our line of AudioSeal™ Sound Blankets over the last 20 years, including the last year’s launch of the EXT, an exterior grade versions, earlier last year, this is the one that I most excited about. It is easy to say that you want to be more environmentally friendly or conscious, but when you can take an existing product and change it for the better for the environment without sacrificing any of the existing acoustical ratings, fire ratings, etc. and without increasing the costs to your customers, you really are accomplishing something of true value.”
