In planning a new 55+ active adult community, in the Valley of the Sun, builder Carl Mulac knew he needed fresh concept, one that would separate his vision from the competition. “We wanted to create a 55+ active adult community that was in harmony on many different levels. In harmony with the broader community, in harmony with the uniqueness of each individual buyer, in harmony with the environment,” said Mulac, CEO of Joseph Carl Homes.

That concept is now reality with the February 13 opening of CantaMia in Goodyear. Artistically CantaMia means “song of myself,” and it is designed for those age 55 and better. Planned for more than 1,700 single story homes and a recreation complex including two swimming pools, CantaMia is located within the multigenerational master planned community of Estrella.

“It could be quite possible that CantaMia buyers would have children and grand children living in Estrella,” note Mulac. “We embrace that connection to all ages and look forward to nurturing community involvement by our residents and helping them pursue whatever interests them,” Mulac noted.

The environmental commitment is equally strong in the 55+ gated community, which is an APS Energy Star and Solar community. Homes in CantaMia are being built to exceed the standards of the EPA/DOE Energy Star program and the Environments For Living® Certified Green program, which include stringent criteria to construct homes that are more energy efficient, comfortable, durable and safe compared to other code-compliant homes. Additionally each home comes equipped with the Echo Solar System, a photovoltaic solar system that has incredible energy harnessing capacity to help provide home heating and cooling, plus water heating. “The environmental commitment makes sense on so many different levels, from saving our home owners money on their energy bills, to reducing the carbon footprint,” said Mulac.

All homes are built by Joseph Carl Homes, a private Arizona home building company whose leadership has deep industry experience. The homes range in size from 1,189 square feet to more than 2,800 square feet, many with options for guest casitas. Because CantaMia celebrates a new song in life, each of the 14 homes is named after a musical element such as Melody, Cantata, Allegro and Encore.

The community is located at the southern end of Estrella Parkway, approximately 14 miles south of the I-10 freeway. The model home park is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information please visit the CantaMia website at http://www.cantamia.com.
