Berkeley, CA (PRWEB) March 05, 2012
This April, Bay Area massage therapy school, The Acupressure Institute is offering an opportunity to learn to relieve stress, soothe aches and pains, and to help mind and body heal. In addition, students can learn to teach others these same hands on healing techniques, all within a once-a-year selection of acupressure/yoga classes with healing arts expert Dr. Michael Reed Gach.
Held at Berkeley’s internationally known Acupressure Institute, the classes will be taught by best-selling author, former director, and founder of the Institute, Michael Reed Gach, Ph. D., a master teacher with over 40 years of experience.
Classes will focus on the time-tested, ancient healing arts of Acupressure and Zen Shiatsu plus Acu-Yoga, which Gach originated himself. There will be both basic classes focused on self-care, and advanced courses where students will learn to teach and share with others.
Dr. Gach, who heads the online healing resources store http://www.acupressure.com, said these arts provide unique opportunities to reduce stress, improve the bodily functions, and address a wide range of physical and emotional imbalances.
“I only teach these classes once a year, so I hope you'll be able to study with me this April; I know you will find it valuable,” said Dr. Gach.
The Acupressure for Emotional Healing class is April 20 and 27 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The 12-hour class teaches how to “gently guide people when emotional pain or trauma surfaces.” The material covered is from Gach’s latest book, “Acupressure for Emotional Healing,” and includes Acupressure points and affirmations for anxiety, anger, fear, panic attacks, grief, and emotional numbness.
Acu-Yoga Foundations is April 21 and 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and provides a rare opportunity to study with the originator of Acu-Yoga. This class teaches yoga postures and breathing exercises combined with specific Acupressure points that can be used for self-care and to share with friends and/or clients for relieving stress related ailments.
The Acu-Yoga Teacher Training class is April 23 through April 26 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Four focused days of teacher training are offered. An Acu-Yoga Teaching Certificate is awarded upon completion of this Yoga teacher training.
The Zen Shiatsu Foundations class is April 28 and 29 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and teaches an easy, effective way to relieve tension throughout the body. This is one of Dr. Gach’s favorite classes to teach.
A very special teacher training opportunity will be offered April 28 and 29 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. This is a onetime class offering for a Zen Shiatsu Teaching Apprenticeship.
