The site's technology enables users to register -- all that's needed is an email address -- and ask any question under the sun. The process is the same for those who want to give their '2 cents' … eliminating the need to choose a username and fill out lengthy online forms just to ask a basic question.

RealAdvice.com, which launches today, offers a fun, easy way to give and get advice from real people just like you. Designed with the latest Ajax technology, the site feels clean, interactive and simple to use. Registration takes just a few seconds, and then you can begin asking questions or answering questions from other RealAdvice.com members. The "My Profile" section enables users to track questions asked and advice given, select a username, upload an avatar, write a brief bio or create a billboard, which is displayed on all posts to the site.

"Information drives the Internet, and if you spend enough time, you can find out just about anything," says PJ Palmieri, Managing Partner at Real Advice, LLC. "But our goal at RealAdvice.com is to help you ask a question and get an answer back in 30 seconds or less. We're striving to help you get advice quicker than anywhere else on the web."

The site is currently in live beta phase, so new members are joining every day, and RealAdvice.com is adding new features on an ongoing basis. For example, the site will soon be announcing a new offering aimed at small businesses. The service would enable professionals to draw an income and generate potential sales leads by answering questions from users seeking specific advice related to the small businessperson's expertise.

In addition, the site plans to add a reputation and ranking system, so users can rate how helpful other members' advice was. Any registered user will be able to read/rate a particular piece of advice, so those asking questions can better determine the extent to which they should rely on another user's opinion. By building a community of real people with real questions and answers, Palmieri says RealAdvice.com is differentiating itself from typical advice sites, articles or blogs.

"Let's say there is a member looking for help how to deal with a cancer diagnosis," says Palmieri. "If I'm that person, I want to be on a site where I'm getting real experiences. Forget about the textbook. I'm getting my answer from someone who has cancer, someone who's gone through the chemo and the surgery. Feelings are included in the answers here."

Future enhancements to the site will include 24/7 live help feature, where users can instantly get advice and answers to their questions in real time. To go beyond text, the site also is planning to eventually integrate video chat into the service, so members can reach out face to face. That type of personal interaction is what sets RealAdvice.com apart, according to Palmieri.

"We want emotion to bridge users to one another, for people to build trust and feel like they are part of a community," says Palmieri. "You'll never get that with text alone. If I want to help my kids get into a good school, I want to talk to someone who's been there, done that, and can help me to avoid hidden pitfalls and have the best chance of success."

The site's owners also want RealAdvice.com to eventually go global, with different language versions and translation software to ensure everyone in the community can communicate quickly and easily. Palmieri said he is encouraging all beta users to provide feedback, questions and suggestions for new features, so the site may continually improve.
