The Hong Kong Summer Spectacular is an annual festival that celebrates the diverse aspects of Hong Kong's culture and traditions. From June 11 to August 31, this vibrant city overflows with special events: Lan Kwai Fong hosts a Beer & Food Festival; Lantau Island's Ngong Ping Village features kung fu feats by Shaolin masters; and the shimmering Victoria Harbor forms the arena for the annual Dragon Boat Carnival.

For Music Lovers... The Chinese Opera Festival brings traditional Chinese theater to the city from June 4 to July 21. The festival includes talks and symposiums across several different venues. For Families... This year, the Stitch and Friends Summer Hangout special at Disneyland gives kids the chance to meet Stitch and cool off with the Waterworks Parade. For Sports Fans... Dragon boat races! Celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month, which falls on June 16 this year, the Tuen Ng Festival commemorates poet Qu Yuan. Tuen Ng is followed by a three-day Dragon Boat Carnival from July 23-25, an international event that features teams from around the world.

For Geeks... Introspective travelers can head to the Hong Kong Book Fair running from July 21-27, the 12th Ani-com & Games Expo from July 30 to August 3 and the Hong Kong Computer & Communications Festival from August 20- 23, all three events staged in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center in Wan Chai.
