We simply have not been as focused on public relations because of the constraints for time and resources

Vocus, Inc. (NASDAQ: VOCS) a leading provider of on-demand software for public relations management, today announced that it has signed AGWAY as a new customer. AGWAY will use Vocus' on-demand solution to manage all aspects of their public relations activities from researching media contacts in relevant industry trade publications and managing media relations - to monitoring and reporting on public relations campaign results.

AGWAY cites the expected time savings, ability to organize its public relations activities and Vocus' extensive media database as the top three reasons for selecting the on-demand service. AGWAY has used PRWeb, Vocus' online news distribution service, more than a year, and just recently subscribed to Vocus' broader offering for public relations management software.

"We simply have not been as focused on public relations because of the constraints for time and resources," said Deborah Rizza, marketing manager with AGWAY. "Vocus provides an organized way to manage public relations activities and track results - the simplicity of the platform was appealing and it's exactly what we need."

AGWAY is based in the Northeastern U.S. and is a wholesale distributor of lawn and garden, wild bird, pet and agricultural products. AGWAY'S goal is to step-up its interactions with trade media covering these sectors.

"Every time we welcome a new customer like AGWAY, we see it as a validation of the value that Vocus delivers, but it's especially rewarding to see this company expand from just using one service to subscribing our larger platform," said Kye Strance, director of product management with Vocus. "We are pleased to welcome AGWAY into our community of customers and look forward to enabling their public relations efforts."
