Hyland's OnBase solution was endorsed by the AHA based upon its unique ability to help hospitals automate manual and labor intensive document management processes, along with its ability to integrate with key hospital information systems.

The American Hospital Association (AHA) today announced it has extended the exclusive endorsement of the OnBase Enterprise Content Management Solution from Hyland Software for a third consecutive three-year term. AHA Solutions, Inc., a subsidiary of the AHA, awards the AHA endorsement to products and services that support member hospitals and health care organizations in their ongoing quest to improve operational excellence. Following a thorough due diligence re-evaluation process by the AHA, the OnBase solution was endorsed based upon its unique ability to help hospitals automate manual and labor intensive document management processes, along with its ability to integrate with key hospital information systems.

Document management is an integral component of areas in patient care, the revenue cycle and administrative departments that are often supported by many paper-driven processes. As an enterprise content management (ECM) solution that hospitals can leverage across the health care continuum, OnBase streamlines processes in departments such as health information management (HIM), patient registration, compliance, patient accounting, legal and human resources.

Addressing the Challenge of Labor-Intensive Hospital Processes and Disparate Information Systems

The OnBase software helps address a critical need in the hospital environment, capturing unstructured information that previously resided within disparate paper filing systems and databases. Easily integrating with established hospital solutions, such as electronic medical records (EMR), enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, health care information systems (HIS) and patient financial services (PFS) systems, OnBase then incorporates the information into users’ familiar clinical and operational applications.

As a result of implementing an ECM solution, hospitals expedite workflow by providing clinicians and staff with more comprehensive health records as well as easy access to centralized information. Hospitals realize cost savings by reducing their paper-based storage requirements and gain efficiencies by improving cross department collaboration, which ultimately improves patient care and satisfaction.

“After an extensive market assessment, we have once again awarded the exclusive AHA endorsement to Hyland’s OnBase Enterprise Content Management Solution, recognizing Hyland’s health care expertise, technology innovation and clear understanding of the unique challenges hospitals face,” said Anthony Burke, President and CEO of AHA Solutions. “The AHA has awarded OnBase with a prestigious re-endorsement based upon the software’s outstanding capabilities to combine document imaging technology, workflow and enterprise report management into a single application that dramatically improves hospitals’ operational success.”

“Our organization is proud to have earned the AHA endorsement for our OnBase solution for a third consecutive term. The endorsement followed a rigorous market study and ECM solution evaluation by the AHA. It is a true honor that showcases our strong commitment to the health care market and our 900+ base of health care customers who consider Hyland a trusted partner that supports improved hospital efficiency,” said Hyland Software’s Chief Operating Officer, Bill Priemer.
