AHA Solutions issues RFI invitation to companies in the areas of wellness-related services, simulation-based training, and pharmaceutical readmission avoidance.

AHA Solutions, Inc. today announced it has issued a Request for Information (RFI) invitation for companies that would like to be considered for the exclusive Endorsement of the American Hospital Association (AHA) in several key areas, including wellness-related services, simulation-based training, and pharmaceutical readmission avoidance. AHA Solutions, Inc., a subsidiary of the AHA, awards the AHA Endorsement to products and services that support member hospitals and care organizations in their efforts to achieve operational excellence.

AHA Solutions has identified four areas of rising demand for innovative products and services that help overcome key operational challenges in health care. Interested organizations are invited to initiate the evaluation process of forming an esteemed strategic alliance with the AHA by submitting a completed RFI. Upon approval of a request, AHA Solutions will contact qualified candidates to begin the proprietary AHA Signature Due Diligence Process™. This evaluation process provides a deep financial, organizational and product understanding of potential recipients of the exclusive AHA Endorsement and the value their solutions can bring to the health care community.

The key areas in which AHA Solutions is seeking RFI candidates include:

  •     Employer Staff Population Analysis – Solutions that evaluate the data surrounding an employer’s staff population. This type of information analysis provides employers with the insight and intelligence to understand the overall wellness of their employee population. In addition, the data analysis can allow an employer to track and review the success of current or past wellness initiatives and identify opportunities for improvement.
  •     Wellness Program Implementation – Solutions that fall under the more conventional definition of “wellness,” which are developed based upon informed analysis of staff population. These solutions focus on the actual delivery of wellness programs (i.e. – measurements/testing, coaching, incentive program, fitness/dietary plans, etc.) that will assist employers and members in better managing health and wellness across the health care facility.
  •     Simulation-Based Training – Advanced training solutions that offer hospital clinical staff the opportunity to practice and perfect techniques and procedures in a realistic, yet neutral environment to ensure proper administration during a real situation. The focus is on the proper delivery of care either in a team setting or individual procedure. Solutions encompassed can range from facility-level ‘simulation centers’ to web-based solutions for training.
  •     Pharmaceutical Readmissions Avoidance – Programs including discharge and post-discharge management of medications. As part of this type of solution, patients meet with representatives and potential caregivers at the time of discharge to outline medication management and ensure prescriptions are either in hand or submitted for later pick up. Following discharge, contact is made with the patient to ensure prescriptions are being taken correctly. Ongoing follow- up with patients also ensures compliance with medication protocols.

“Implementing effective programs related to employee wellness, hospital staff training and patient readmission avoidance can be critical for hospitals, employees and patients alike. It is paramount for hospital and health system employees to lead the way and serve as role models for healthy living and fitness for their communities, offer state-of-the-art training for employees and to help reduce readmissions,” said Tim Steffl, Vice President, Corporate Development, AHA Solutions, Inc. “To help health care organizations successfully deploy these types of programs, AHA Solutions is seeking candidates for the exclusive AHA Endorsement.”
