AIAG Educates Automakers and Suppliers on Global Standards and the Future of Automatic Identification Technologies within the Supply Chain

AIAG’s 14th Auto ID Showcase will inform stakeholders about how automatic identification technologies can be used to improve efficiency for inventory traceability and tracking.

In a continuing effort to inform the automotive supply chain on current and future applications of automatic identification (auto ID) and radio frequency identification (RFID) technologies, AIAG will hold its 14th Auto ID Showcase on April 22, 2010 at its headquarters in Southfield, Michigan and online via WebEx.

A highlight of this event will be a presentation by Larry Graham, president, LLG AutoID LLC. and Kang Lee, sensor development and application group, National Institute of Standards and Technology, on the global future of Auto-ID and standards around sensors.

Cognex Corp. is the corporate sponsor for the showcase. Other highlights include presentations on international automatic identification standards, the adoption of RFID in the automotive industry and the new RFID Item-level standard and the new guideline for direct part marking.

In addition, approximately 10 AIAG member companies will demonstrate solutions in bar code, direct part marking, shipping labels, RFID and other technologies in the exhibit area.
