I chose Akavit because of their reputation for having hard-core, back-end technology knowledge and not just pretty designs.

Akavit, a leading interactive agency and web technology company, today announced the launch of HonorBib LLC’s new Web site, http://www.honorbib.com. HonorBibs are personalized photo back bibs for runners and walkers to honor those they love during a race or walking event. The Web site was designed so that participants and supporters can choose a non-profit to support, select a colorful template, easily upload photos of loved ones, write a personalized message and then purchase their HonorBib in either seed paper or Tyvek®. HonorBibs cost $10 each and at least 10 percent of each one sold is donated to charity. A partnership program for non-profits, race directors and companies to brand their own HonorBib is built into the site.

“I knew in developing this company that I would need a robust Web site with many more capabilities than just the bib creator tool,” said Alexandre Garrett, president and founder of HonorBib LLC. “I chose Akavit to develop my Web site because of their reputation in the marketplace for having hard-core, back-end technology knowledge and not just pretty designs. I was also ecstatic that they were willing to work with a start-up when they work with big outfits like the Denver Broncos.”

The cornerstone of HonorBib LLC is to give back to charity and make a difference in this world. Akavit worked with HonorBib LLC to develop a customized back bib maker tool that could easily be integrated with other Web systems such as non-profit Web sites and race registration sites. A unique redemption code system enables HonorBibs to be sold as a $10 upgrade on race registration sites and non-profits are able to utilize HonorBibs as a gift with donation.

“The HonorBib project is a great example of Akavit clearly identifying a client’s needs and producing a Web site that exceeded expectations,” said Rob Davis, president of Akavit. “By understanding Alexandre’s vision for partnering with non-profits, we were able to provide suggestions for creating a Web site that aligned with her business goals and enable her to scale from partnering with one non-profit to thousands.”

HonorBib.com consists of three different elements: 1) the back bib maker tool to customize an HonorBib utilizing different templates, 2) the non-profit element of plug-n-play software for charities and race directors to provide a unique HonorBib code to users to be redeemed at http://www.honorbib.com, and 3) a back-end portal specifically designed for HonorBib employees to track and monitor HonorBib orders and fulfillment.
