Best E-commerce Site and Best Software Programming/Design Awarded in the Web Site or Blog – Craft & Function category

Akavit, a leading interactive agency and Web technology company, won two Stevie® Awards in the Web Site or Blog – Craft & Function category at The 2010 American Business Awards(SM). Best E-commerce Site was awarded to Akavit and Sukle Advertising & Design for the rebranding of GoLite’s Web site, and Akavit won Best Software Programming/Design for the creation of Mix1’s Web site.

In winning the Stevies, Akavit beat out other finalists including AngelVision, AT&T, crowdSPRING, John Hancock Funds, Shipwire and Velir Studios. In accepting the Stevie, Rob Davis said, "At Akavit, we strive to help companies of all sizes bring their Web programs to the next level. Stevie Awards were presented in over 40 categories at the awards ceremony on June 21 in New York. More than 2,700 entries from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted for consideration.

Title: GoLite Increases Sales with Re-Branded Site

In 2009, GoLite initiated a new overall brand strategy which included re-branding its digital space. They turned to Akavit and Sukle Advertising & Design to help them achieve their goals. GoLite makes ultra-lightweight, planet-friendly, high-performance outdoor gear. Akavit worked with Sukle to translate GoLite’s values to the Web by simplifying their site and employing horizontal navigation to reinforce the nature of the trail. Since the launch of the site, there have been more than 354,000 visitors and more than 50 percent were new visitors. http://www.GoLite.com.

Title: Mix1’s 3D Product Bottle Becomes the Hero

Mix1 re-launched its Web site in 2009 with the objectives of incorporating a large volume of nutrition information about its all-natural protein drink and still making the site fun for visitors. Mix1’s bottle is a unique shape and it became the hero of the Web site. Built in Papervision3D and played in Flash, the bottle is a full mathematical rendering that can be turned and flipped by clicking on it. Since the re-launch, the average time spent on the site increased from 3:14 to 5:11 minutes, pages viewed increased from 4.2 to 6 pages, and site visits increased from 33,000 to 42,000.
