Alameda, CA (PRWEB) September 30, 2011
Jamestown, a leading national real estate acquisition and management firm, announced today that it will host a variety of Halloween events, including the widely attended Teen Haunted House, onsite at Alameda South Shore Center for several dates in October. This marks the first time the Haunted House, coordinated by the Alameda Recreation and Park Department (ARPD), will be at the center. The “spook-tacular” dwelling, decorated and staffed by local middle and high school students, attracts thrill seekers of all ages. The Teen Haunted House relocated to Alameda South Shore Center from the Veteran’s Memorial Building.
"Alameda South Shore Center is the perfect location for us for so many reasons—ample parking and security, a larger venue to accommodate the event's growing popularity, and the many additional activities for families to enjoy while onsite," said Andy Wong, Teen Program Coordinator for ARPD. "We're thrilled to be here and look forward to welcoming one and all to the Teen Haunted House."
Spirit Halloween is also onsite at Alameda South Shore Center this Halloween season. Featuring costumes for children and adults, accessories and decorations, the retail store leased 12,535 square feet of space through November, and will be active partners in a number of the center’s Halloween celebrations.
“Spirit is fortunate to have had the opportunity to relocate to such a vibrant venue as Alameda South Shore Center. We're committed to providing the community with the best Halloween experience possible, while supporting the Teen Haunted House and related programs,” said Tonia Farinha, Director of Stores, West Coast, for Spirit.
This is the 8th Annual Teen Haunted House produced by the ARPD. It’s estimated that more than 200 teen volunteers participate, earning approximately 1,200 hours of community service. The cost is $4 for youths and $7 for adults. Additional donations are accepted and all proceeds benefit ARPD’s teen programs. Peter’s Kettle Corn will be present, with a portion of their sales also going to ARPD.
The schedule for the Teen Haunted House is as follows:
*Friday, October 21, and Friday, October 28: 6:30 – 9:30 pm
*Saturday, October 22, and Saturday, October 29: 2:30 – 9:30 pm
*Sunday, October 23, and Sunday, October 30: 2:30 – 9:30 pm
Other not-to-be-missed events include the Costume Fashion Show featuring local families modeling “Spirit” costumes on Sunday, October 23, and the Costume Contest on Sunday, October 30. The contest is open to all and there will be prizes and giveaways in numerous categories, including children, teens and families.
Families are invited to visit the center’s Pumpkin Patches, located throughout the property and made possible by the Decorate South Shore Center Program and participating local elementary schools. There will be numerous other activities for children onsite, including the Bladium Sports & Fitness haunted bouncy house, open Friday, October 21, and Friday, October 28, from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
All Halloween festivities will take place at Alameda South Shore Center located at 523 South Shore Center, Alameda. Last year, more than 1000 people attended the fun-filled, family-friendly events.
