Star athletes have equipment made to their specs for top performance, greater efficiency and productivity, and increased competitive advantage. These are the very same reasons why companies should have their business software made to their specifications.
Montreal, Quebec (PRWEB) July 27, 2010
Following a decision to develop specializations and a determination to deliver best-fit software solutions, AIS announces that it will be advancing the use of certain ALCiE applications, generally named Best-Fit Elements, that are specialized versions of the core ALCiE modules known as ALCiE Elements. For businesses with specific software needs, the availability of these Best-Fit Elements will allow these companies to enhance their existing information systems, resulting in higher efficiency and increased productivity – and a positive effect on the financial bottom line.
The key to delivering Best-Fit Elements is two-fold. First, the core applications need to address the special requirements of a business within a seamless process – in other words, the special requirements are embedded into the standard functionality of the core applications such that the business process followed by personnel (the end users of the system) is reflected as closely as possible by the best-fit applications. Second, and significantly, the Best-Fit Elements must be an "open architecture" to allow interfacing and integration capabilities with any existing systems used by the company.
It is important to mention that a company's specialized requirements do not automatically signify that these are complex requirements. Often times, it is simply a need that is not addressed in "commercial off the shelf" software.
In one such specialization case, AIS was asked to develop shipping and handling rate calculations that are determined by a number of criteria related to the products being delivered (as opposed to rates calculated solely on the basis of weight, for example). This enhancement was uncomplicated, yet instrumental in increasing revenues by roughly 10%, as well as an astounding ROI (Return on Investment) of greater than 2200% in the first year of its implementation.
In another project that involved best-fit and interfacing/integration features, AIS created an application to help a sales department make use of particular data mining capabilities to automatically generate bulk quotations based on a marketing campaign, and to send these quotations via an upload to a third-party campaign management application. This solution enables the organization to offer its customers the products they need and want, based on past purchases, resulting in recurring sales of the same products and up-selling of related products.
Yet another example of a specialized solution involved the embedding of a third-party software's General Ledger Account segments into ALCiE Inventory Management and Purchasing modules, which was a solution where ALCiE Software Interfaces with Oracle Financials Software.
