Alexander Youth Network Invites All to Holiday Tree Lighting

Free and open to the public, Alexander Youth Network's tree lighting tradition offers crafts, carols, cards and community on Sunday, Dec. 2, at 6:00 p.m., at the main campus on Thermal Road.

The Annual Tree Lighting provides an opportunity for the Alexander family to celebrate its mission with the general public in a casual “drop-in” atmosphere.

Alexander Youth Network(AYN) invites the greater Charlotte community to main campus for the Annual Tree Lighting set for Sunday, Dec. 2 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Alexander Youth Network is located at 6220 Thermal Road (Charlotte, NC 28211); holiday revelers will find festivities on the playground just past the main office. Alexander Youth Network builds community through the Annual Tree Lighting celebration. All children are invited to make ornaments, decorate cookies and visit with Santa. The formal program begins at 6:00 p.m. with a musical performance by Violet’s Violin Academy followed by the Alexander Drum Ensemble. Once the tree is lit, all are invited to add decorations and stock the tree with new, wrapped gifts for the kids of Alexander Youth Network through the Angel Network. “Our Annual Tree Lighting is such an uplifting and positive event,” said Craig Bass, CEO of Alexander Youth Network. “It renews the hope we have for the children we serve and always reminds me of the difference we make in their lives.”

Alexander Youth Network has a “no eject, no reject” policy when helping children recovering from severe emotional and behavioral challenges. The Annual Tree Lighting provides an opportunity for the Alexander family to celebrate its mission with the general public in a casual “drop-in” atmosphere.
