“The idea behind the contest isn’t just to give away great prizes, the idea is to encourage community and creativity while sharing the joy of the season as experienced in Texas,” says Katrine Formby, co-owner of Mozart’s and the force behind the Deck of Lights festive atmosphere.

Precision Camera and Mozart’s want to emphasize that this contest is state-wide. They decided to incorporate Google’s photo sharing site, Picasa Web, so that the submitted Christmas light images can be viewed not only by everyone in Texas, but by anyone in the world with internet access. http:// http://tinyurl.com/txphotocontest2011
Contest Details
1. Each photo must have Christmas lights in it.
2. Each photo must be taken somewhere in Texas.
3. Each photo must be taken this holiday season.

http://www.AllAboutTexasChristmasLights.com Photos will be judged on “Most Unforgettable Photo that has Christmas Lights in it.” 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and ten honorable mentions will be decided by a panel of VIP Austinite judges.
7 p.m. December 20th - Winners Announced On Mozart's Deck of Lights
Winning photos (contestants do not have to be present to win) will be displayed on a huge outdoor screen at the announcement party on Mozartʼs deck, 3825 Lake Austin Blvd., Dec 20th at 7:00 p.m. Listen to Christmas carols and enjoy complimentary hot chocolate or drip coffee throughout the party. Even Santa Claus will be making an appearance from 7:00 pm. - 9:00 p.m!
Submissions Will Be Publicly Streamed Via the Internet on Giant Flat Screen TVs at Both Precision Camera & Mozarts Coffee
Submitted photos will be visible on the flat screen monitors at both Precision Camera and Mozart's. Each photo will display the photographer's name, title of image, and location. Visit either Precision Camera or Mozart's to see your submission on the big screen.
