Allison Merkle Alison has worked with children all her life; as a mother of three, she adds firsthand experience to her professional experience. With the publication of her new book "Parenting at Our Best: Wisdom and Advice from Parents Who Have Been There" (published by Balboa Press) she presents parents with a guide to "all the stuff I wish I’d known when I raising my own children."
"Parenting at Our Best" collects parenting wisdom and advice from parents that have raised successful children. Alison’s purpose in assembling this collection of knowledge is to help parents become even better parents. She knows – from her own life and from her professional experience – that better parents build better, more successful children.
An excerpt from "Parenting at Our Best":
"As mothers and fathers explained over coffee and water bottle chats, teaching your children to communicate and really listening to them when they talk are two of the greatest gifts you can give your children. Communication is the way to show you value your children because when you really listen to your children, it validates who they are. This point, one stressed by successful parents, was one of the most important to emerge during my long stretch of interviews."
