Allsup Place is about empowering people
Belleville, Ill. (Vocus) December 9, 2008
Allsup today introduced Allsup Place(SM), a dynamic, free online community providing comprehensive resources, forums and information for individuals with disabilities. Allsup is a leading provider of Social Security disability, financial and healthcare-related services to people with disabilities.
"Allsup Place is about empowering people," said Paul Gada, personal financial planning director for Allsup's Disability Life Planning Center. "We are focused on creating a supportive and caring environment where individuals have access to the best information available and the knowledge they need to make informed choices."
Whether tracking the progress of their disability claim, better understanding Social Security or Medicare enrollment, learning more about their conditions or local organizations that may be able to provide support, or just simply sharing their story and what they know with others going through a similar experience, Allsup Place offers the resources individuals need.
Allsup Place provides destinations for both Allsup clients to monitor claims as well as the broader disability community.
Customized News and Resources:
Areas of Allsup Place open to the public include Locate Resources, where individuals can find details on organizations and web resources dedicated to disability-related topics and personal stories of individuals with disabilities, and News, including a newsfeed by LexisNexis. As Allsup Place registered users, individuals are able to access information, including specific news and resources customized to their medical conditions, for the following conditions, with more being added on a regular basis:

"People with disabilities are often searching for answers. They want to know more about their condition, treatments and how to do things better or differently to get the best results possible," said Gada. "There is no shortage of data online, but through Allsup Place, we want to make sure people have access to the best information."
Forums for Shared Experiences and Making Connections:
Forum is another section of Allsup Place. This section offers individuals the opportunity to exchange ideas, pass along tips and personal experiences and learn from one another about a variety of issues.
Allsup prides itself on being an excellent resource for people with disabilities. But we also recognize that our clients can be excellent resources for one another," said Gada. "We want Allsup Place to foster a community of shared experiences where people can visit with others facing similar issues so that everyone benefits from this collective knowledge."
In addition to claims, news, resources and forums areas, Allsup Place also provides a comprehensive place for learning more about healthcare choices and includes access to the Allsup Medicare AdvisorSM program that helps individuals select the appropriate Medicare program for their needs as well as a health discount program.
