This year marks our 10th Summit and it is therefore appropriate that we focus on ‘Bouncing Back’ and rebuilding our businesses after a difficult year.

Overcoming shortages and high raw material costs, environmental concerns, competitive forces in the marketplace, developing alliances with the right players in the industry and building a powerhouse brand will be among the topics discussed at Alltech’s 2010 Agribusiness Summit.

Under the umbrella theme of ‘Bounce Back’, Alltech’s Agribusiness Summit will take place in Lexington, Kentucky, USA from the 16th to the 19th May 2010. The summit, which will consist of practically focused presentations, case studies, panel discussions and networking events, will feature an impressive panel of high caliber speakers, including representatives of: the largest Brazilian multinational in the food industry, JBS S.A.; Almarai, the world renowned integrated dairy foods company whose network extends throughout the Arabian Peninsula; Rabobank, an international financial services provider committed to the food and agribusiness; European food company, the 2 Sisters Food Group; Harvard Business School; and University College Dublin.

“Each year we see over 100 agribusiness professionals from top companies around the world journey to Kentucky to engage in this unique networking opportunity. This year marks our 10th Summit and it is therefore appropriate that we focus on ‘Bouncing Back’ and rebuilding our businesses after a difficult year,” said Alltech’s Vice President for Europe, Marc Larousse.

The 2010 Alltech Agribusiness Summit offers a truly global program, with speakers and attendees representing the world’s richest economies as well as emerging markets. Presentation topics include: ‘Building a global dairy powerhouse’, ‘The power of a brand’, ‘How to bounce back against high raw material costs and environmental concerns’ and ‘the value of franchising’. The exclusive and interactive nature of the program facilitates idea generation and discussion that directly impacts business strategies for the companies represented by delegates.

Three case studies looking at leading agribusinesses will also be a key feature of this year’s Agribusiness Summit. These case studies, examining companies including Guatemalan fried chicken restaurant chain, Pollo Campero and Dutch dairy cooperative, FrieslandCampina will be led by representatives of prestigious academic institutions, Harvard Business School and University College Dublin’s Smurfit Graduate School of Business.
