Airlines and hotels give away more than $50 billion worth of points and miles each year, primarily to businesses using the right credit cards.
SALT LAKE CITY (PRWEB) May 26, 2012
There is a $50 billion “gold rush” going on in the credit card rewards industry, according to Alpha Flight Guru, a Utah-based travel company specializing in discount luxury travel. On May 29, executives from Alpha Flight Guru will present on how companies can take advantage of this “gold rush” by maximizing frequent flier and credit card travel reward earnings. The speaking event is to celebrate the launch of a three-part white paper series on the topic.
The first paper in the series will appear that day on CFO.com and AlphaFlightGuru.com. The paper explores the best ways to earn and redeem frequent flier miles and credit card rewards points for business travel in the $3 trillion credit card industry.
The event is scheduled from 11 a.m. to noon at Corporate Alliance, 7730 Union Park Avenue in Midvale, Utah. Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. The event is free and open to the public and those who attend will receive a free copy of the first white paper.
“Airlines and hotels give away more than $50 billion worth of points and miles each year, primarily to businesses using the right credit cards,” said Orem resident Tim Gibson, CEO of Alpha Flight Guru. “Our presentation and white paper series will show businesses how they can maximize their claim in the credit card rewards gold rush.”
Gibson and Chad Gibbons, director of operations for Alpha Flight Guru, co-authored the papers and will discuss findings including:
- The top business credit cards for earning reward points.
- How to maximize the value of reward points.
- How to boost travel status to receive upgrades, avoid baggage fees and pass through the
fast lane at security by using credit cards.
- Why redeeming frequent flier miles for cheap business class tickets is the best use of credit card reward points and frequent flier miles.
- A four-step process for selecting the best credit cards based on company spending and travel.
- How companies like Harmons have saved more than $100,000 each year on international travel expenses.
“Using credit cards has replaced flying as the top way to earn frequent flier miles. We found that the best use of points is on international first and business class flights,” Gibson said. “The potential for savings is as high as 5 percent, or 5 cents per dollar spent on credit cards.”
The second and third white papers in the series will be released in the next few weeks and will go into detail about optimizing the use of credit card reward points and saving on international travel.
