The conference, now in its sixth year, is hosted by the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology and is entirely organized by MIT students. Mr. Leavitt, whose water discussions have twice been featured in Dr. Marc Faber’s The Gloom, Boom & Doom Report, was invited to join a panel of experts to discuss “The Food, Water and Energy Nexus”.
Other featured speakers at the two-day conference included James E. Rogers, Chairman, President and CEO, Duke Energy, Ray Mabus, Secretary of the U.S. Navy and John Briscoe, Professor of the Practice, Harvard University.
The MIT conference highlighted other cutting-edge topics, including energy in emerging markets, electric vehicle charging infrastructure and renewable fuels, as well as a showcase to exhibit the latest research and technologies in the energy space.
