AlterPoint, Inc. (http://www.alterpoint.com) a leading provider of open network management software, today announced record results for the quarter ended December 31, 2007, highlighted by a 50 percent increase in sales over the prior-year period. This is the third consecutive quarter that AlterPoint has increased sales by 50 percent or more over the prior-year period.

The company's open technology approach towards network management is proving to be a powerful differentiator.

"We have achieved this growth through a combination of an expanded product portfolio, an open approach to building software that stands in sharp contrast to traditional management bloatware, and an unwavering commitment to customer support and retention," said Scott Harmon, CEO of AlterPoint. "In short, we seem to be winning out in the market even as bigger competitors scramble to get in the game."

Highlights and accomplishments include:

-- Record-breaking Sales: 2007 fourth quarter sales increased 50 percent over the prior-year period, leading to a 46 percent increase in total sales, year-over-year.

-- Customer Validation/Market Adoption: the largest number of license deals in eight quarters, including one of the world's pre-eminent financial services companies, and strategic wins in the Federal market.

-- Product Innovation: release of a new solution that transforms CiscoWorks inventory data into actionable business intelligence, plus a steady increase in the adoption of new product modules released in 2007.

-- Open Source Initiatives: growing momentum around the ZipTie open source project, which increased its user base by more than 1,200 in the fourth quarter of 2007.

"In a market characterized by increasingly complex technology and fewer and fewer independent options available to discerning customers, AlterPoint continues to prove the strength of its products and the vision of its management team," said Jim Gauer, Managing Director of Palomar Ventures and a member of AlterPoint's board of directors.
