SmartSynch, a global leader in wireless smart metering technology, today announced that it has been chosen by AlwaysOn as one of the GoingGreen 100 Top Private Companies for 2007. The list identifies the most promising entrepreneurial opportunities and investments in the clean technology industry. In order to be eligible for the first-annual elite GoingGreen list, which was compiled by the AlwaysOn editorial panel, companies had to receive more than 500 peer nominations from venture investors, investment bankers and other industry experts.

Being named an AlwaysOn GoingGreen 100 Top Private Company Award Winner is further validation that our products are playing a role in the global push for energy conservation

SmartSynch will be honored at AlwaysOn GoingGreen, which will be held at the University of California, Davis, from Sept. 10-12. GoingGreen is a two-and-a-half-day executive gathering that highlights the significant impact clean technologies have on new economic growth and in sustainable use of natural resources.

"The AlwaysOn GoingGreen 100 companies will accelerate the global movement to a more sustainable environment," said Tony Perkins, founder and editor of AlwaysOn. "The ideas and innovation we saw as we reviewed hundreds of clean technology companies will be foundational to the next wave of economic growth in California and beyond. My congratulations to each AlwaysOn GoingGreen 100 winner - these are the companies that we predict will have the greatest market traction, strongest innovation and most game-changing approaches this year."

SmartSynch's IP-enabled technology facilitates real-time acquisition of critical usage and rate data from electricity meters using public wireless networks and the Internet. Once received and processed, this data enables utilities to increase their power and operational efficiency while affording their customers the ability to manage daily energy usage and significantly reduce their electricity bills and impact on the environment.

"Being named an AlwaysOn GoingGreen 100 Top Private Company Award Winner is further validation that our products are playing a role in the global push for energy conservation," said Stephen Johnston, president and chief executive officer of SmartSynch. "This initiative will succeed only through active consumer participation - meaning utilities must first demonstrate to their customers, energy usage in dollars and cents, then provide them the tools necessary to react. Since 2000, our technology has been helping major utilities in North America fulfill environmentally friendly initiatives while also improving their customer service and overall operational effectiveness."
