With 35-40 years of Systems Management expertise, Mr. Andrews will consult LightBridge on its Knowledge Base, The Alzheimer’s Caregiver™.

Effective knowledge management is an increasingly important factor in the education of health professionals. Explosive growth of information in all areas of medicine and nursing coupled with mounting demands on the time of both faculty and students have generated a need for systems that will simplify access to a diverse range of information resources and facilitate the effective use of this information.

A knowledge base is a centralized repository for information: a public library, a database of related information about a particular subject could all be considered to be examples of a knowledge base. In relation to information technology (IT), a knowledge base is a machine-readable resource for the dissemination of information, generally online or with the capacity to be put online. A knowledge base is an integral component of knowledge management systems; a knowledge base is used to optimize information collection, organization, and retrieval for an organization, or for the general public.

The Alzheimer’s Caregiver™ knowledge management system is a concept in which LightBridge consciously and comprehensively (i) gathers, (ii) organizes, (iii) shares, and (iv) analyzes its knowledge in terms of resources, documents, and people skills.

The Alzheimer’s Caregiver™ is a dynamic multimedia knowledge management system, which supports researchers, academics, institutions and the bedside caregivers in teaching and learning. It provides a portal to an integrated body of Alzheimer’s care research and the means to personally organize the vast array of Alzheimer’s care information through its related applications.

About The Alzheimer's Caregiver: The Alzheimer’s Caregiver™ provide the Alzheimer’s Caregivers worldwide with a comprehensive understanding of Alzheimer’s disease and care strategies based on research and real caregiver’s experience. It is funded through numerous competitive grants from the National Institute of Health in Washington DC.
