Hip-hop artist A-Mafia has released the video for the song “Get Money Stay True.” The song and video featuring rapper Papoose is now available for view on YouTube.
Abdul “A-Mafia” Holmes is from Harlem, New York. He started rapping at the age 15 because it was a fad among his peers. He used freestyling an outlet to express his experiences and feelings about his unstable childhood. A-Mafia came from a broken family so he often had to fend for himself living in group homes or on the streets. After he became involved in crime, he spent a total of almost 10 years in jail until he decided to focus on his music.
Motivated by family and freedom, he uses his music to talk about what he has had to do to survive. He started Deep In The Game Entertainment (D.I.T.G.) with his partner Born to get raw New York street music out to the masses. A-Mafia is respected in most hip-hop circles and has done records with some of Harlem’s most notable artists including Cam’ron, Jim Jones, Hell Rell, JR Writer and .40 Cal.
Inspired by Big L, Dougie Fresh, Nas, and 50 Cent he has created 6 mixtapes. His latest project, “My Side of The Story,” is considered his best release so far according to music publications like XXL Magazine. A Mafia’s goal is to become a legendary name in hip-hop.
