In a nationwide promotion, American Express is offering shoppers a prepaid Gas Card worth $15 and up to 25% off Avis Rent A Car rentals when they purchase three American Express® Gift Cards of any value at participating retailers, shopping centers, AAA Clubs, banks and American Express Travel Services offices through December 31, 2008.

Shoppers can take advantage of this promotion by purchasing in person any three American Express Gift Cards at participating locations, completing a rebate form found in-store or online at americanexpress.com/gascard, and mailing it along with the original purchase receipt to the address on the rebate form. Upon receipt of the completed rebate form, a Gas Card worth $15 and an Avis promotion code will be mailed back within 60 days. The Gas Card can be redeemed for three months after the date of issue for purchases at U.S. gasoline retailers that accept American Express. The Gas Card must be presented to a cashier for processing and is not for use at the pump. Avis discounts vary by state for car rentals and rental fees must be charged in full to any American Express Card when using the promotional code.
