"Jeopardy" is a show that demands knowledge of a wide range of topics.
Arlington, Texas (PRWEB) January 14, 2013
In a recent survey of randomly selected Mensa members “Jeopardy” was chosen as the best television game show. One of the highest rated syndicated shows in the United States, “Jeopardy” enjoys a well-deserved intellectual image. “Jeopardy is a show that demands knowledge of a wide range of topics. More than any other, it requires a quick mind and intellectual depth,” said one survey responder. “Jeopardy winners are smart.”
The top ten list of game shows, as selected by Mensa members includes: “Jeopardy”, “Wheel of Fortune”, “Who Wants to be a Millionaire”, “Family Feud”, “The Price is Right”, “Password”, “Hollywood Squares”, “Cash Cab”, “What’s My Line”, and “Pyramid”. The complete survey was dissected further, as Mensa members do love data. The results highlighted interesting differences as Gen X survey responders were pitted against baby boomers. FremantleMedia provided a list of 30 top game shows for members to vote on. Selected shows had to meet at least one of the following criteria: Emmy award winner, on air for at least 10 seasons, receives or received high Nielsen ratings, or is considered a groundbreaking or culturally significant show.
