Amica Ranked "Highest in Customer Satisfaction" for Ninth Straight Year

Amica Mutual Insurance Co. has again been ranked highest in customer satisfaction among national home insurers – for the ninth straight year – according to the J.D. Power and Associates 2010 National Homeowners Insurance Studysm released this week.

Amica Mutual Insurance Co. has again been ranked highest in customer satisfaction among national home insurers – for the ninth straight year – according to the J.D. Power and Associates 2010 National Homeowners Insurance Study&#8480 released this week.

“To receive this award nine years in a row shows our commitment to customer service,” said Robert A. DiMuccio, president, chairman and CEO of Amica. “It’s the basic principle on which our company was founded, and one that we still embrace today.”

The ranking is based on a survey of more than 12,900 homeowners who were asked to rate their satisfaction with their homeowners insurance companies in five categories: interaction, policy offerings, billing and payment, price and claims.

“Amica Mutual ranks highest for a ninth consecutive year among homeowners insurance companies and performs particularly well in all five factors that contribute to overall customer satisfaction,” according to J.D. Power and Associates.

“We’re pleased to be among a handful of companies whose satisfaction scores increased this year,” DiMuccio said.

Amica earned 849 out of 1,000 possible points on the customer satisfaction index ranking, climbing seven points from 2009. The average point score among all insurance companies was 750.

DiMuccio said the award is a tribute to each of the company’s more than 3,200 employees. “They deserve special credit for all they do to help us succeed – and for providing our customers with the best customer experience in the business!”

Earlier this year, Amica Mutual Insurance Company also was ranked highest in customer satisfaction among national auto insurers in the J.D. Power and Associates 2010 National Auto Insurance Study.SM It was the 11th consecutive year that Amica was ranked highest.

Amica also has earned a string of other customer service honors this year, including being named a “Customer Service Champ” by Bloomberg BusinessWeek magazine.
