Here is a quick guide to some of the late summer highlights in LaGrange County:

August 18th – Classic Car, Truck and Street Rod Show – The Howe School Alumni Association Presents the 2nd Annual Classic Car, Truck and Street Rod Show in nearby Howe Indiana. All participants in the show will receive a dash plaque and prizes will be awarded for all three classes. Enjoy food and drink all day and tours through the Historic Mansion and Chapel at The Howe School.

September 3rd-5th – Labor Day Flea Market – Shipshewana boasts the Midwest’s largest flea market (100+ acres) which attracts tens of thousands of annual visitors. To meet the demands of large crowds and busy shopping days, the flea market is offering special extended hours for Labor Day shoppers (Monday-Wednesday, 8am-5pm).

August 25th-December 8th – The Half-Stitched Quilting Club – A mismatched group of characters find themselves thrown together in the quilting class of Amish widow Emma Yoder and learn that using “scraps” to create a beautiful tapestry applies to more than just quilting, but to life. This original musical is playing at the Blue Gate Theater.
