AUSTIN, Texas (PRWEB) September 02, 2011
Amplify Credit Union is again a key sponsor of the IBM Uptown Classic 10K presented by Luke’s Locker. The race is scheduled for October 2, 2011. Now in its 12th year, the race benefits the YMCA of Austin, a nonprofit organization with eight branches in Travis and Hays counties.
Amplify was founded more than forty years ago as IBM Texas Employees Federal Credit Union. "Given our roots, and our commitment to giving back to our community, sponsoring this race is a natural fit for Amplify," Amplify President and CEO Paul Trylko said. "We also appreciate that the YMCA is the beneficiary of this event. Their ethic of supporting family fitness dovetails nicely with Amplify's mission to support financial fitness. Both help foster stronger, healthier communities here in the Austin area."
The race will begin at the IBM Austin campus. Its circuitous course through the Domain Shopping Center is considered one of the fastest in Austin, and is also the kick-off for the Austin Fit Magazine’s Distance Challenge race series. Race information is available at http://www.uptownclassic.com.
Amplify Credit Union is local member-owned cooperative. Profits are returned to members as lower rates and fees on loans and higher dividends on deposit accounts. Anyone who lives, works or goes to school in Travis, Hays, Bastrop, Caldwell and Williamson counties is eligible for membership. Amplify actively supports events and businesses in these communities.
