After Amplify Entertainment promised to record a video of its DJs doing the Harlem Shake if its Facebook page reached 500 likes, fans responded by sharing the update far and wide. The demand was great enough to generate more than 500 likes, and Amplify Entertainment followed up by posting the video to its YouTube page.

Amplify Entertainment DJs recorded this Harlem Shake video after Facebook fans spread the word to make it happen.

We told our Facebook fans that if they would generate enough demand to justify making the video we'd do it.

Amplify Entertainment published a video last week capturing the Florida-based company's DJs doing the Harlem Shake. The video, which was posted to Amplify Entertainment's YouTube page, was the result of a promise made by the company to shoot the video if its Facebook fan page reached 500 page likes in three days.

It started with a post from Amplify Entertainment owner Nate Long to the company's Facebook page that read, "If our Facebook page gets to 500 likes by Sunday, our DJs will make a video doing the Harlem Shake. It's on!" By Sunday, the page exceeded 600 likes and the video was filmed, edited and published a few days later.

"We told our Facebook fans that if they would generate enough demand to justify making the video we'd do it," said Amplify Entertainment owner Nate Long. "The demand greatly exceeded our expectations, so we took to the conference room to shoot our video."

Amplify Entertainment -- a wedding DJ company based in Tallahassee, Florida -- often gets requests at its events for the Harlem Shake. The song became an internet sensation when seemingly endless variations of the song's music video began to flood YouTube, each with a unique spin on the original.

The videos all feature a single, unnoticed dancer who, when the song announces "do the Harlem Shake," is joined by the entire group of people now dancing with costumes, animal headgear or missing clothing. The song continued to quickly grow in popularity, leading to a video of the Miami Heat basketball team recording its players doing the Harlem Shake.

"We had way too much fun making that video," said Long. "I'm excited to see what our clients and fans demand of us next."
