Make-A-Wish® International, one of the world’s largest children’s charities, announced today the appointment of Amy Nauiokas, founder of Archer Gray Productions, as chair of the board of directors, effective immediately. She will provide leadership on strategic planning, advocacy and development initiatives on behalf of the organization during the 2012-2014 term. Commenting on her election during the organization’s recent annual meeting held in São Paulo, Brazil, Ms. Nauiokas said, “I am delighted and honored to be named board chair of Make-A-Wish International, and am deeply committed to its magnificent mission of making wishes come true for children with life-threatening medical conditions. Granting wishes helps not only the youth who receive them, but their families and caregivers, too. I look forward to working with our dedicated board, staff, supporters, volunteers and partners around the world in granting even more wishes to our brave children and their families.”
Prior to her appointment, Ms. Nauiokas served as the organization’s treasurer for two years and as a board director since 2007. She has also served as an advisory board member of Make-A-Wish Metro New York.
"We feel honored and privileged to have someone of Amy Nauiokas’ caliber leading the
Make-A-Wish International Board of Directors and are excited for her to help propel our global growth,” said Jon Stettner, President and CEO, Make-A-Wish International. “Amy has been a pleasure to work with in her roles as board director and treasurer, and her strong global experience and outlook will help advance our initiatives while she serves in her role as chair.”
David Williams, President and CEO, Make-A-Wish America said, “We are so pleased that Amy, a member of the Advisory Board for Make-A-Wish Metro New York and Western New York, will now be serving our organization on a global level. We are happy to see her continued support of the courageous children we serve.”
