Jackson, NJ (PRWEB) May 19, 2009 -- Traffic to ambigram related web sites has increased dramatically following the $48 million opening weekend of the movie adaptation of Dan Brown's conspiracy thriller "Angels and Demons". Ambigrams are word designs that appear identical even when inverted and are key elements in the story's plot line.
In 'Angels and Demons', Harvard professor Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) receives a fax from the Vatican containing the word 'Illuminati', presented as an ambigram. Langdon turns the design upside-down and finds that the symbol is unchanged, an indication that it is a message from the ancient underground Illuminati organization.
The Illuminati ambigram launches Langdon into a race against time to catch up with a hired assassin who has kidnapped and intends to execute four high-ranking Catholic Cardinals. Before killing each of his victims, the assassin brands the chest of each of his victims with four additional ambigrams, consisting of the four elements thought to compose all matter in the time of Galileo - Earth, Air, Fire and Water.
