spca-LA Names Celebrity Ambassador for Animals
Vicki Roberts Named Ambassador to spca-LA.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) November 30, 2007 -- Celebrity attorney, author, and actress Vicki Roberts has been named by the animal protection organization, spca-LA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals - Los Angeles), as one of their high profile ambassadors to spread the news about animal care, welfare, and safety. She is also a preeminent member of spca-LA's well known entertainment advisory committee. Roberts has committed to spread the word throughout the entertainment community and at large as to the need for disaster preparedness for pets and has agreed to serve as an ambassador for this 130 year old organization.

Being an animal lover comes naturally to Vicki Roberts, who has a pack of pets including a dog, two cats and a couple of cockatiels. She is passionate about animals and animal causes and over the years has donated thousands of dollars to animal charities around the world including the Doris Day Animal League, People Helping Horses, African Wildlife Foundation, American Humane Society and Best Friends Animal Society. Vicki most recently was invited to the first-ever International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) Animal Action Awards where she honored supporters of animals and animal rights worldwide.
In connection with her role as honorary board member for the spca-LA, Vicki Roberts and President Madeline Bernstein recently honored the long-time animal lover and The Price Is Right king, Bob Barker. She and Bernstein jointly gave Mr. Barker an award for his animal activism on the set of one of his last shows hosting The Price Is Right.
In the early 1990's, Vicki volunteered for the Amanda Foundation (an organization dedicated to dog and cat rescue) by visiting with the dogs and cats that were waiting for adoption and were housed at a local vet's office. Her job was to take each one of them out for a time and play and cuddle with them. She would remove them individually from their cages and sit on the floor with them and give them one-on-one time. Celebrity attorney turned actress, Vicki Roberts can be seen on television guest-starring in five separate court cases on the new show, Jury Duty, that will be aired randomly throughout the 2007-2008 season. She can also be seen guest-starring in the new film, Being Michael Madsen, starring Michael Madsen, Virginia Madsen and Darryl Hannah which recently premiered overseas at the Raindance Film Festival in London and domestically at the Starz Denver International Film Festival. Her full length feature documentary entitled Through Your Eyes, in which she guest stars in addition to being the Executive Producer, is scheduled for release at the end of the year.
