PETCO Foundation Raises Nearly $2 Million for Animals in Need
PETCO Customers, PEDIGREE® Brand Give Generously to Spring A Pet Campaign
SAN DIEGO (Vocus/PRWEB ) July 1, 2008 -- Tens of thousands of PETCO customers are making a difference in the lives of animals in need after giving generously to the PETCO Foundations annual Spring A Pet fundraiser.
During the six-week campaign this spring, more than 900 PETCOs across the country collected donations on behalf of local animal shelters, with thousands of pet parents giving to the cause. The makers of PEDIGREE® Brand food for dogs joined in, donating $1 for each purchase of PEDIGREE® products of $10 or more, for a total of $50,000.
Together, the Spring A Pet campaign raised $1.95 million, with all donations staying in local communities.

In addition to donating money to the fundraiser, PEDIGREE® Brand also covered the printing costs of store signs promoting the campaign, saving the PETCO Foundation approximately $35,000.
