Whippany, NJ (PRWEB) September 12, 2006
On Sunday, September 10, at approximately 7 p.m., TRIMSPA’s website went black. Earlier that morning, Alex Goen, CEO and founder of TRIMSPA received a heart wrenching phone call from Howard K. Stern, attorney and long-time friend of Anna Nicole Smith. Daniel Wayne Smith, 20, had been found not breathing, in bed. An emotionally shaken Stern told Goen that neither drugs nor alcohol were suspected, but the cause of death was unknown.
Daniel was in the Bahamas to share in the birth of his baby sister, born September 7th. He visited Anna and his new half-sister the night before he passed away. The encounter was described as, “a perfect night.”
Stern said in his only release, “Anna Nicole is absolutely devastated by the loss of her son. He was her pride and joy and an amazing human being.”
Goen, reflecting on his own interactions with Daniel, remembered him as, “a great kid, quiet and unassuming, and very bright,” said Goen, “When Daniel walked into a room, Anna would literally light up -- he was the apple of her eye. It’s just an incredibly sad time.”
In addition to TRIMSPA’s website going black, the company is attempting to pull the advertising campaign slated to begin airing this week. The ad, which celebrated Anna’s pregnancy, “just feels inappropriate right now,” said Goen. It is not yet known if the media will allow the contracted commercials to be pulled, but Goen said he “understands, whatever their decision. We know we’re trying to do the right thing for Anna -- to give her some room to grieve.”
