Anthem Career College, with campuses in Nashville and Memphis, will host Open Houses on March 28 for persons interested in preparing to enter allied health careers or business or paralegal careers.
“Spring seems to be a time when a lot of people take a look at their lives and make decisions about moving forward,” says Memphis Campus President Brenda Nash. “We want to let people know that Anthem Career College is a place where their hopes and goals will be taken seriously and where they will be supported. It’s never too late to get an education!”
Three programs offered at the Memphis campus—Medical Billing & Coding, Medical Assistant and Pharmacy Technician—match careers that made Yahoo Education’s list of top five healthcare careers, Nash notes. Medical Assistant and Medical Billing & Coding programs are also offered at the Nashville campus, along with a Dental Assistant program that also prepares students to enter Yahoo Top Five career.
“We see our purpose in preparing students for real-world jobs. In addition to top-notch training and education, we also prepare them to meet with potential employers,” Nash says. “Our Career Services staff teach students how to for interview for jobs, encourages them to attend interview practice sessions, and help them develop resumes and cover letters.”
Anthem Career College offers the following programs:
- Business Management
- Dental Assistant
- Limited Scope X-Ray Technician
- Massage Therapy
- Medical Assistant
- Medical Billing & Coding
- Pharmacy Technician
Not all programs are offered at both campuses. Depending on the program or location, students can enroll in Diploma or Associate of Applied Science degree programs.
Both campuses offer day and evening classes, and train students in labs designed to look like the workplaces they are preparing to enter. There is an emphasis on appearance. Allied health students wear scrub uniforms, and those in other programs are required to dress professionally while on campus.
Communicating with area employers is another important part of Anthem, Ball says. The Nashville campus recently hosted a job fair where some students were hired on the spot. “I’ve had a much better turnout and better applicants today than I did at a six-hour open house I ran at one of my locations last week,” one employer said.
The Nashville campus, located at 560 Royal Parkway in Nashville, opens its doors to the public from 9 am to 7 pm. The Memphis campus, located at 5865 Shelby Oaks Circle in Memphis, will be open from 9 am to 8 pm. Program instructors, chairs, staff, and current students will be on hand to lead tours and answer questions.
