Our students want something fulfilling, and for many, training and education in allied health is particularly rewarding.

Anthem College in Brookfield will host an Open House throughout the day on March 28, beginning at 9 am and lasting until 8 pm. Prospective students and the public are encouraged to attend.
The Open House will showcase the College’s four allied health education and training programs in Massage Therapy, Medical Assistant, Medical Billing & Coding, and Surgical Technologist. All programs offer the Diploma and Associate of Applied Science degree except Surgical Technologist, which offers the Associate degree only.
“Anthem College is a great option for students who are at a crossroads,” says Jennifer Paugh, Campus President. “A lot of our students have been in the workforce or have had some college education, but they are looking for something more. They want something that‘s fulfilling and more many people, training and education in allied health is particularly rewarding. There’s class room learning, there’s hands-on training in labs, and there’s working with healthcare teams and with patients.”
This certainly rings true for Patsy Olsen, a recent graduate from the Surgical Technologist program. “I had attended a large community college right after high school” hoping to enter a medical imaging program, she told the Association for Private Sector Colleges and Universities (APSCU), but found the atmosphere too crowded and chaotic. “I was stressed out,” she said, and returned home to Elkhorn. She soon found Anthem College and discovered the Surgical Technology program. “It was perfect,” she said. “This is exactly what I wanted to do.”
For Veronica Montaldo Owen, a 2010 graduate, studying Massage Therapy became a kind of calling. A widow with four children, Veronica had experienced massage therapy in dealing with her grief. “It helped me so much I thought I could help others,” she told APSCU. While returning the school was “a little scary— I’m older than the kids here!”, she also found that going to school gave her a focus.
Both graduates appreciated Anthem College’s flexible schedule. “Having four sessions to choose from is very helpful with four children to raise,” Veronica commented. Patsy liked Anthem’s schedule, which runs one class at a time every four weeks.
Anthem College is located at 440 S. Executive Drive in Brookfield. For more information about the Anthem College Open House and to RSVP, please contact the College at 262-373-7000.
