Manchester (PRWEB UK) 28 August 2012
Digital Sports Group are today launching the PFA Profile of Manchester United midfielder Antonio Valencia. DSG became the official digital partner of the Professional Footballers Association (PFA) earlier this year and have since launched a number of Player profile fan pages on social media site Facebook as well as providing official player pages on their football news site football.co.uk. It was today the turn of Manchester United’s Antonio Valencia to see his official PFA Profile.
Valencia signed for Manchester United in June 2009, after impressing the previous couple of seasons at Wigan Athletic. He became Manchester United’s first summer signing and agreed a four year deal thought to be in the region of £16 million. Valencia has been utilised by Sir Alex Ferguson as either a ring back or right winger and is known for his ability to pick out a cross. During his time with the Red Devils, he has helped the club to Premier League glory in 2011 and to the League Cup in 2010. On 3 July 2012, it was confirmed that Valencia will wear the number 7 shirt, worn by past players such as Bryan Robson, George Best, Eric Cantona, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo, after requesting the number upon Michael Owen’s departure from the club.
Head of Operations at DSG, Matthew Tait had this to say “Valencia will have no shortage of fans after his impressive performances for Manchester United since signing in 2009, especially since picking up the iconic number 7 shirt.”
“Of course a player with Valencia’s talent requires a certain level of respect and responsibility and he is sure to be a major hit with fans on Facebook.”
Digital Sports Group will provide further PFA player profiles for every professional footballer in England. The Antonio Valencia Facebook Page is now live. For all the latest football results and to view the latest transfer gossip visit the football.co.uk website.
