Appcelerator is helping to provide Red Hat customers and developers with a seamless way to bring their cloud-connected apps to mobile users.

Appcelerator®, the leading mobile cloud platform for rapidly developing native mobile, desktop, and tablet applications using web technologies, announced today that developers will soon be able to use Appcelerator Titanium to create, deploy, and manage mobile applications, and then push them to the Red Hat OpenShift Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) cloud with just a single click.

Unveiled at the Red Hat Summit in Boston, the Red Hat OpenShift platform is the industry’s first open source-based PaaS designed to provide developers with everything needed to get started with development. The Red Hat OpenShift platform not only delivers an extensible architecture, but also lets developers select from a broad choice of frameworks, languages, APIs, automation levels, and choice of clouds. This will help developers quickly integrate third-party solutions with the platform through open APIs and pluggable modules, saving time and money, enabling them to monetize their apps faster.

One-Click Mobile Deployment to the Cloud
Titanium Studio, an Eclipse-based IDE, will enable developers to build the cloud portion of their mobile-cloud applications via an integration with the Red Hat OpenShift platform. Cloud services can be built using Java, PHP or Ruby and deployed to OpenShift with just a single click from within Titanium Studio.

“We're thrilled to be the first mobile development platform to be part of OpenShift,” said Jeff Haynie, CEO of Appcelerator. “Our integrated solution will enable developers to build and manage their mobile applications on Red Hat-certified clouds.”

“Appcelerator is helping to provide Red Hat customers and developers with a seamless way to bring their cloud-connected apps to mobile users,” said Sarangan Rangachari, senior director, Cloud Ecosystem at Red Hat. “We look forward to working with Appcelerator to meet the needs of our OpenShift users.”

Red Hat’s OpenShift plug-in will be available for Titanium Studio this summer. See a demo of the integrated solution at
