With The OrcaTec Appliance, organizations will be able to ingest eDiscovery or other big data sets and then, behind their own firewalls, use all the tools in the OrcaTec Document Decisioning Suite, like predictive coding, concept search and review.
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) August 29, 2012
OrcaTec has announced that it is now taking orders for The OrcaTec Appliance, on which organizations can deploy the OrcaTec Document Decisioning Suite™ in-house. The announcement comes in conjunction with the International Legal Technology Association’s Annual Conference, where OrcaTec is a Gold Sponsor.
“ILTA Conference attendees are smart technology people who are going to want to find out the details of our appliance,” said Herbert L. Roitblat, Ph.D., CTO and chief scientist for OrcaTec. “They’ll do more than just ‘kick the tires.’ We think they’ll be thrilled with what we have to offer.”
With The OrcaTec Appliance, organizations will be able to ingest eDiscovery or other big data sets, remove system files and extraneous data, then get to work using OrcaTec’s advanced analytics and predictive coding for Early Case Assessment (ECA) and first-pass review. They can then move on to review and production, all with the data staying behind their firewalls.
OrcaTec analytics include concept search, visual clustering, timelines, relationship sonar and more, including the predictive coding being used in the Global Aerospace v. Landow Aviation case in Virginia. No. CL 61040 (Va. Cir. Ct. Apr. 23, 2012).
The OrcaTec Appliance starts at a 2 TB capacity and can be scaled up based on the client’s needs. As with all OrcaTec products there are two pricing models: ala carte pricing for a particular case or matter, or subscription pricing at a fixed monthly fee for “all you can eat.”
OrcaTec will manage The OrcaTec Appliance for the first 60 days as part of the standard training process for new owners. After that, it will turn over management to the organization, or continue to provide engineering assistance for an additional fee.
“Law firms, corporations and service providers have all been telling us what they need on an appliance. We’re excited that we are able to give them so much power in an OrcaTec box that they can use in-house,” said Roitblat.
Atlanta-based OrcaTec is reinventing eDiscovery by combining all-in-one smarter predictive coding, ECA and multi-faceted document review. Beyond keyword searching, the concept-based OrcaTec Document Decisioning Suite™ takes eDiscovery from data ingestion through document production, using concept search, predictive coding, visual clustering, timelines, “sonar” and other advanced analytics. The Suite is currently being used in the Global Aerospace litigation in Virginia because of OrcaPredict’s predictive coding, which is unique in not requiring seed sets or pre-culling.
