The purpose of the aquarium is to educate the students about marine reef life.
San Jose, CA (PRWEB) September 29, 2011
SeaLife Aquarium Maintenance in San Francisco and San Jose is announcing its installation of a 300 gallon reef aquarium at the prestigious Harker School in San Jose last July 2011.
“The purpose of the aquarium is to educate the students about marine reef life,” said Jeff Jacinto of SeaLife Aquarium Maintenance.
SeaLife Aquarium has been providing homes and offices with beauty and a touch of the marine life with its creation of beautiful aquarium displays, as well as its aquarium service and maintenance.
A staff member at Harker School saw the advertisement on SeaLife Aquarium’s van, came up with the idea of having an aquarium on campus, checked out http://www.aquariumservicessanjose.com, and they now have a delightful 300 gallon reef aquarium on display.
The reef aquarium uses LED lighting that helps minimize energy consumption. Seventy-five (75%) percent of the corals used are frags so that the students can watch the coral grow. For the life support system of the reef, the aquarium uses a refugium, a large protein skimmer, and bio pellets. The reef aquarium will also have a weekly maintenance consisting of a twenty (20%) percent water change using RO/DI water, testing water, cleaning algae from glass, fish/coral health assessment, and other general husbandry tasks.
