Arcata Associates has once again decided to put its energy into the fight against cancer by raising and contributing over $19,800 this year to organizations across the country that are dedicated to finding a cure for cancer or supporting those battling cancer.
Arcata Associates President and CEO, Tim Wong, said, “I am proud of the many Arcata employees who have volunteered their time and raised money to fight cancer, a deadly disease that has directly or indirectly affected the lives of nearly every person. We recently lost an employee to cancer and we have a number of employees and employee family members who are fighting the disease which has fueled even more passion throughout the company.”
Over 75 Arcata Associates employees and their families participated in an American Cancer Society Relays for Life one in Palmdale, California and one in Pearl River-Picayune, Mississippi. Arcata employees also made strides for breast cancer by walking in both Las Vegas, Nevada and Biloxi, Mississippi. At the 2010 Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation walk/run in Las Vegas, Nevada over 70 employees and their family members supported the event.
Over the last three years, Arcata has raised and donated more than $70,000 for the American Cancer Society and other organizations that support families suffering from cancer.
