Pick-and-choice bidding is commonplace at most live auctions, but has never been available to online real estate auctions.
On Saturday, Aug. 19, Roebuck Auctions will offer 227 subdivision lots in Bella Vista, Arkansas at a live auction while simultaneously taking online bids using the high bidder pick-and-choice method.
The Roebuck auction will be held on LiveAuctioneers.com, an eBay partner. John Ralston, chief executive officer of the online company, which hosts 75 percent of eBay auctions, has been working closely with the auction staff of Roebuck Auctions to make this happen.
“The ‘grouping’ option is a relatively new feature in the eBay live auctions applet, and was specifically developed for the RE/B&I sector of the auction industry. This feature allows internet bidders to bid on a group of properties and upon becoming the successful high bidder, then make their choice on the specific lots they want to take at that bid amount,” Ralston said.
Jeff Morris, vice president of sales for Roebuck Auctions, said he believes this will be the first of many successful online auctions using the pick-and-choice method.
“This seems like something that is a natural progression in the online auction world. We at Roebuck are proud to be among the first to offer this to our online bidders. It’s just another way Roebuck Auctions can offer the latest in high-tech customer service that is associated with the Roebuck Auctions name,” he said.
Roebuck Auctions, a nationally recognized leader in the auction industry, specializes in the sale of real estate, and handles the sale of all types of real property ranging from residential and resort, to agricultural and commercial.
