This deal again demonstrates how Arle’s active ownership delivers in practice. We supported the management team by leading the negotiations to acquire Nightfreight and will now help them to deliver on the next phase of the plan.
London (PRWEB UK) 15 March 2012
Arle Capital Partners today announces that DX Group, the UK & Ireland’s leading independent mail, courier and logistics network operator, has acquired Nightfreight.
This acquisition will create the UK and Ireland’s leading independent mail, courier and logistics network provider, diversifying the service offering and providing the broadest range of capabilities to business customers. Combined with last month’s opening of a state-of-the-art parcel sorting and distribution centre in Warrington, the deal gives DX Group the capability to satisfy growing market demand from existing and new customers.
Nightfreight is a leading logistics business, with a particular niche in the IDW sector (parcels of an irregular shape and size) for B2B and B2C markets. Its services are highly complementary to those of DX Group. Following completion of the deal, customers will have access to a full range of mail and courier services, including sending large and heavy items, two-man deliveries, core logistics and warehousing services. This deal will provide further investment to improve operations, IT systems and the fleet of vehicles.
Commenting on the acquisition, Mark Dickinson, Arle Capital Partners said: “This deal again demonstrates how Arle’s active ownership delivers in practice. We supported the management team by leading the negotiations to acquire Nightfreight and will now help them to deliver on the next phase of the plan. DX Group becomes a major player in the logistics sectors and will continue to generate profitable growth across the expanded group.”
The DX and Nightfreight businesses will continue to run as separate entities, but with a co-ordinated approach to sales and marketing activity to allow both companies to offer the full range of services.
Petar Cvetkovic, DX chief executive, said:
“The combination of Nightfreight and DX creates a clear market-leader with a more diversified customer offer. The enlarged business is set to generate profitable growth and will be much better positioned to satisfy growing demand from our new and existing customers. Together, we can build a sustainable business to compete more effectively in the courier and network distribution market.”
