Ryan Kavanaugh, CEO of Relativity Media, LLC, has been named Chairman of the Board of The Art of Elysium. The organization encourages actors, artists and musicians to voluntarily dedicate their time and talent to children who are battling serious medical conditions. Kavanaugh will hold this position for two years. Kavanaugh has been involved with the program for several years, and recently served as host for The Art of Elysium's 2nd annual black-tie charity gala earlier this year.
"We are deeply grateful for Ryan's commitment to The Art of Elysium," said Jennifer Howell, Founder of The Art of Elysium. "Beyond generous monetary contributions, Ryan has poured his heart and given his time to this organization in a way that is virtually unprecedented. It is inspiring to watch him interact with the children."
"The Art of Elysium supports the two most important causes in my life: art and children's well-being," said Kavanaugh. "It creates the perfect environment, in that by supporting artists and helping them achieve their goals, they return to the organization to help those in most need, the children. For everyone involved, it is a life-changing experience. This new position is an honor, and I will do everything I can to further the amazing work of the organization and those who bring so much to the children benefited by its work. Expect to see big things in the near future from The Art of Elysium."
The charity gala, co-hosted by Kavanaugh and fashion designer Rosetta Millington Getty, served as both a fundraiser and showcase for the work of the children who have participated in The Art of Elysium's programs. The formal event, themed "Heaven," and its after-party, themed "Hell," were created by legendary director, Jim Sheridan. Sheridan received the evening's Visionary award, while actress Eva Mendes received the "Spirit of Elysium" award for her enthusiastic support and active participation in The Art of Elysium's hospital program over the past two years.
