Anton Fakhouri, M.D., an orthopaedic surgeon with MidAmerica Hand to Shoulder Clinic, will present an educational program on hand and wrist arthritis from 6 – 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, at Advocate Christ Medical Center, 4440 W. 95th St, Oak Lawn. The program is free and open to the public, and takes place at the Lower Level Conference Center, Room 0629 A and B.
More than 40 million Americans suffer from some type of arthritis. It is a disease characterized by the progressive degeneration of cartilage, the cushioning liner, between the joints. Arthritis is almost always painful and may result in limitation of motion, joint deformity and loss of function.

Dr. Fakhouri is fellowship trained in hand and microsurgery. He is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in microsurgical limb reconstruction, carpal tunnel syndrome, arthoplasty of fingers, tendon repair and transfers and reconstruction of the hand and upper extremity. He is also a member of the Bone and Joint Institute at Advocate Christ Medical Center.
