The court is located in a residential area where a lot of kids enjoy playing football. The boarding materials used result in a strong noise reduction which is a big advantage for the surrounding houses. All elements of the football court are inter-connected with each other which ensures a solid construction made of durable materials that are not dangerous or harmful. A net all round will make sure that the ball stays within the playing area.
For this project the FT XP 32 nf made by GreenFields was selected. GreenFields is well known for its innovative approach to synthetic turf systems without rubber infill. The density of the fibre's coupled with two heights of fibre provide playing characteristics and quality very close to that of the nature of the game. The XP fibre offers superior playing comfort with a natural appearance and a soft surface for players. What makes this fibre authentic is the extraordinary durability. In combination with the pre-fabricated foam Airlastic© XC 070-10 shock pad, long term performance in respect of shock absorption, energy restitution and vertical deformation criteria are achieved. As this artificial turf system meets the HIC criteria it provides a safe surface for everybody to play football on.
This project was realized together with GreenFields' Spanish partner OPSA. Fernando Diaz Pena, manager of OPSA, said: "Artificial grass without rubber infill is easier to maintain than artificial turf with rubber infill. Furthermore the constant performance of the system will allow children to enjoy playing football the whole year through. It only took us 5 days to install the turf and build the court. We are sure that everybody with a passion for the game will love this football facility".
