We pride ourselves on building good relationships in the communities we work with and I feel we’ve been able to do that in Paramount.

The fourth and final phase of installation on the Ralph C. Dills Park project, a multi-level, multi-product precast concrete park barrier with anti-graffiti coating, was begun by the Los Angeles-based company Artisan Precast on December 1, 2009.
Dills Park represents one of the largest jobs for which Artisan has provided precast concrete fencing with graffiti coating, ideal for park locations because it makes graffiti removal easy and non-destructive, avoiding high costs to clean and repaint walls. The project has provided a wonderful opportunity for Artisan Precast to form a bond with the neighborhood by contracting to erect a highly functional barrier that integrates beautifully into the environment, at a low cost to the City. “We have established a wonderful relationship with the Paramount community,” says Artisan CEO Craig Lewis. “We pride ourselves on building good relationships in the communities we work with and I feel we’ve been able to do that in Paramount.”
The Dills Park project is an excellent example of how a wide variety of precast concrete wall and fencing products can be combined on a single job. Across four construction phases, the project used an attractive combination of 3’ and 5’ high WoodcreteÒ Rail, Artisan’s split-level accentuated wood grain design; 4’ high WoodcreteÒ 3-Rail; and natural ledge stone-look FencestoneÒ in 8’ height. All these trademarked products were developed in 1982 and are designed to withstand any deterioration caused by ground movement, weather, or insect infestation. In addition, the graffiti coating, which was provided by Bithel, Inc., was incorporated into the Dills Park barrier to ensure optimum functionality for the public park setting.
The eco-friendly aspects of Artisan Precast’s wall systems also recommend them to community-based projects. Lewis has made “green” technologies a priority for the company designs for the past two years.
