Artspan (http://www.artspan.com), an online art destination and leading provider of artist websites, announces the establishment of a strategic partnership with The Discerning Eye, a U.K. based arts charity dedicated to increasing awareness and appreciation for the visual arts. The partnership will enable artists affiliated with either organization to greatly expand their presence beyond national borders.

As part of this partnership, Artspan will be sponsor the Artist’s Private View at the 2012 ING Discerning Eye Exhibition, taking place November 15 – 25 at The Mall Galleries in London. This highly regarded annual exhibition is a centerpiece for the activities of The Discerning Eye, and comprises both publicly submitted works and works independently selected by six prominent figures from different areas of the art world: two artists, two collectors and two critics.

The connection between Artspan and The Discerning Eye is natural. Artspan is dedicated to empowering artists at all career stages to easily showcase and market their work to a large audience. The Discerning Eye offers exposure to visual artists from a wide range of experience levels, styles, and disciplines; the unique structure of the Discerning Eye exhibition provides an opportunity for works by lesser-known artists to be shown alongside works by internationally recognized names.

“The democratic nature of The Discerning Eye submissions process is especially compelling, and in line with Artspan’s mission to empower individual artists,” says Eric Sparre, Founder and Director of Artspan.

Tony Humphreys, CEO of Discerning Eye, adds “The Discerning Eye is also about encouraging new buyers of art. Artspan offers artists a quick and easy way of introducing their work to a much larger audience and potential buyers greater access to a wider variety of work from which they can further develop personal taste which will hopefully lead to further sales for artists.

About The Discerning Eye

Membership in the organization offers discounted submission fees for the annual exhibition, two newsletters per year, the opportunity to attend a special preview of the annual exhibition, and other ad hoc special offers.
